Our Programmes

Community ParalegalMobilising Grassroots Power

Change often begins with one story, a child without a birth certificate, a family navigating life without documents. Through one-on-one paralegal support, we walk alongside individuals to secure legal identity and work toward a simple but powerful goal: that every child is registered at birth. We then train community paralegals so that knowledge and access to justice stay within the community, enabling them to take up cases themselves. By documenting each case through a professional tracking system, we turn lived realities into evidence, transforming individual support into collective advocacy and long-term grassroots power.

Community EngagementCommunities Seen, Communities Protected

Through grassroots socioeconomic projects, we work alongside communities to build both dignity and opportunity. Traditional craft becomes more than heritage—it becomes a storytelling platform to raise awareness about the Lundayeh community, who are often not widely recognised as Indigenous to Sabah, helping to foster understanding and reduce discrimination. At the same time, we journey with stateless and migrant communities to support access to civil registration and strengthen child safeguarding, and, where needed, respond to concerns related to human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour—ensuring that empowerment and protection go hand in hand.

Policy, Advocacy and Research Shaping Systemic Justice

Every case we encounter tells a story, but patterns across cases tell us where systems must change. Our advocacy begins on the ground, where lived experiences are carefully documented, studied, and analysed. Guided by research and data, we trace the links between individual struggles and structural gaps. From championing child safeguarding in Sabah to contributing to state policies, national action plans, and regional commitments, we bring evidence from communities into the rooms where decisions are made. In doing so, we turn grassroots realities into informed reform, shaping policies that protect, recognise, and include.
